Native of Chicago, Tom first visited the islands of the Pacific Northwest as a Junior at Beloit College. He returned to Puget Sound time and time again, finally relocating with his family in 2015.

Tom’s three children and their circles of friends, set against the backdrop of natural beauty and a tightly knit community, provide endless awe and intrigue for the Commodore Island Mysteries to continue to delight and inspire readers for years to come.

Tom’s advanced degree serves to cover a coffee stain on the wall. He is a unicyclist, fluent in Spanish, enjoys drawing and painting with oils, and kayaks once or twice a year. He collects words, mostly from crossword puzzles, and he and his son have a secret code language that may not allow them to talk behind others’ backs, but it sure can get funny sometimes.

Clappy as ham and brining shight!
