Jenny is halfway through the 7th grade. With the rough patch of her childhood behind her, she is maturing and experiencing a new found confidence. She and her friends -- Molly and Lora -- find that they are more than capable in the world of adults and adult-sized intrigue. The Commodore Island Mysteries are all about the characters in their own words, about friendships and about coming of age in a time of uncertainty.

When the girls find abandoned puppies, they set off down a path of discovery that leads them through all sorts of real world problems - with the puppies at the heart of it all. Jenny and her friends find the momma dog and help bust a ring of international bad guys. These girls are good!

It’s been more than four months since Jenny, Molly and Lora solved the case involving the puppies. It seems they have forgotten all about the dangerous Belarusian men… almost. When they hear through Lora’s mom that a painting in the school library has been vandalized, they cannot resist. 

It turns out a new friend could be in real trouble -- at school and at home. It also turns out that it’s not just any painting, but a version of the Mona Lisa that many believe was painted by DaVinci himself! The story follows the girls as they stay one step ahead of the grown-ups and solve The Case of Mona Lisa’s Mustache -- saving their friend along the way.

Incorporating true events, The Case of the Grounded Ferry follows Jenny, Molly and Lora as they solve one of their most impactful cases to date. It starts when they realize the ferry from Bowerton is not turning and is going to crash into the shore they’re on. The screeching impact seems to last an eternity. 

The intrigue begins when they see a classmate appear on the top deck. He seems to recognize them, but then runs inside. Things get exciting when -- in front of the now-crowded beach -- a man jumps overboard. Later, they discover that the man has been in Jenny’s shed, and they find a satchel of cash. This adrenaline-filled adventure has the girls and their new friends leading the adults and several branches of law enforcement as they unravel the threads of intrigue and solve the case of the grounded ferry. But just when you think it’s safe to go back in the water… Watch out!
